From time to time over the years I have stools that I can only describe as smelling metallic. I haven't seen people with colon cancer really describe this symptom but if you type in metallic smelling stools online many people say it means blood. I don't see blood and I know it can be occult but do people with occult blood often say it smells metallic? Would this more than likely be diet related? I'm going to doctor Friday and a little scared to ask.

Hi w1ndowman,
I’ve never heard of this but I’m all in for learning new things. You should take a FIT test to check it out. It very well may be a dietary thing, but please get it checked out. Definitely mention it with your doctor. It’s a concern. It’s a symptom. A FIT test should give you some peace of mind👍.
