Hu Ulrich…I do have edema. My nurse gave me medical compression socks to wear. I cannot wear them much longer than 6 hours tho because they then hurt. But they DO really help. Not in one day or two but over time. I am not able to put them on or take them off myself they fit so tight and I dont have the strength or grip. In addition my doctor prescribed me a small dose of a diuretic to take every day. This has helped control it well. There are times it gets worse. My therapist said I must get the water back up to my kidneys to help it get out…feet elevation and working the calf muscles with a small bike pedal machine I can do while sitting in my wheelchair helps since I cannot walk to exercise my calves. I hope you can find some solution for your problem. Theses are things which have helped me. Keep trying and be patient…best you can, day by bay..truly..Enzo

Hi Enzo, Thanks for your reply. I think our treatment is very similar, I looked on Youtube, there are videos on there showing easier ways to put compression socks on. I can get them on and my wife pulls them off, I agree they are terrible things to wear, I only manage a few hours every day. I also have leg and foot massage gadget called Fit King from Amazon, I think that helps a little. Take care.

I Have it also and doctor has put me on one diuretic tablet a day which has been helping. I have also been giving an appointment for the hospital to have a scan on my heart to make sure it is working ok. I will let you know how that goes. In the meantime it is tablet and feet raised up or gentle walking.
