Hello, I wondered if anyone uses these orthotics and if so did they get them through the NHS?

Unfortunately my orthotics department in Scotland will not prescribe them, although I have asked on several occasions , but the answer remains no... I have also been advised by my physiotherapist some years ago to try and get oxygen chamber treatments to which I have went through privately. Although there are oxygen chambers locally and I could pay several pounds less per sessions they will not provide me with this treatment. Therefore I have to travel 45 miles to pay for the same treatment with much more expense. Charcot Marie Tooth is a neurological disease that I feel we should get the same recognition as any other neurological disease, and feel very much discriminated against. There are 2 local chambers one in Perth and dundee and not one will allow me the use of their chambers. In my opinion Charcot Marie Tooth is NOT getting the same research in the uk as in other countries. I am pretty disgusted at how I have had to go private for many of my treatments, and feel there is a lot of negligence surrounding the NHS patients who suffer from Charcot Marie Tooth, making life very , very difficult.

i live in England and have just asked for turbo-meds iv looked into these and i was determined to get them.im fed up with being fobbed off with orthotics that hurt like hell .i was all ready for having to fight for them but they just agreed and i go for a fitting late October 2019 great i can't wait.amazing.i do hope i can get on with them and they help with my balance. idid ask to see some one new at the orthotic clinic because i was getting no where with the person iv been seeing she was hopeless she couldn't care less .i think she's in the wrong profession.the man i saw couldn't be more helpful ,plus he actually listened to me.you can buy them but they do cost quite a bit.
