Fused toe is broken

Hello all, I hope you are all well.

I had some toes fused some time ago and this morning I tried kicking a walnut for my dog and stubbed the foot into the earth, I'm pretty sure its broken, it is swollen and blue, what should I do, Has anyone experienced this before, what did you do ?

Dear Ulrich,

Hello, yes I did the same thing with my big toe and a carpet at the end of May. Not only broke it, but made a pretty good attempt at tearing the end right off. Blood everywhere. I went to A&E and spent the night there before having it sewn and taped back together. It is fine now and the old toe nail has just come off, so don't worry too much about it so long as you have a good blood supply to the foot.

Good luck,
