Hi

I am 55 and often have blood pressure of 95 over 53-8 and am wondering if I need to be concerned about this or if its just a feature of CMT

Hi, I'm 63 with type 1a CMT. I am not aware of abnormal blood pressure, high or low, being particularly associated with CMT. However, the range of symptoms that can occur with CMT seem to be so wide, and varied, I wouldn't dismiss it entirely. Personally, I have roughly normal blood pressure but a very low resting heart rate of low 40s bpm, sometimes into the 30s at night! It causes me no discernible problems and my GP seems quite happy about it.

I would get an opinion from your GP and, if necessary, a cardiologist referral, just to be sure there's nothing else going on.

Good luck.
