You should consult a CLL specialist- the cornea of our eyes does not have blood vessels, so if the eye surgeon and a knowledgeable CLL doctor talk together, they may decide that no pause or a short pause less than 7 days would be appropriate.
just had cataract surgery. Also on BTK inhibitor. Cataract surgery is bloodless so didn’t have to stop it. Done by top ophthalmologist at UCLA in California
I just had one done in August. My CLL specialist said no need to stop my Ibrutinib since there is no blood in cornea. However when I read all the risks, it did point out that during the procedure the laser could accidentally hit other areas around the cornea. We opted to stop 2 days before and I went back on it immediately after the procedure. I think more for my peace of mind rather than pure necessity.
I had a lens dislocate 2 years ago and the other one this year. Both time my CLL doctor said to do what the eye surgeon wanted. He didn’t think is mattered. I stopped for a week before surgery and started again the day after surgery. No bleeding issues.
