Hello my fellow cll friends I took my mom to the hematologist and while we were expecting her to go back to 400mg of venetoclax from being on 200mg for a while she told us that her blood couldn’t handle the dose so we are down to 100mh Venetoclax and 425 ibruvica.
I was wondering has this ever happened to anyone?
And I was curious my mom started ibruvica in October 2022 and venetoclax 3 months later Isn’t the treatment ending in January.
Will the cycle be complete with such low dosage ??
Thanks again
Hope everyone is doing well ♥️

There are a number of different treatment protocols for venetoclax based therapies. All combination therapies for CLL aim to achieve a deep response - hopefully with an end point when it is impossible to detect CLL cells in a blood sample of 10,000, 100,000 or more white blood cells. This is termed undetectable Measurable Residual Disease (uMRD). Your Mum may need to stay on treatment until this is achieved, 100mg of venetoclax might be able to get her to the point where she can cease treatment, but if not, staying on 420mg of Imbruvica or even a lower dose, should keep her CLL under control.
The Captivate MRD trial of Venetoclax + Imbruvica, those that didn't reach uMRD4 (no CLL in 10,000 cells) by cycle 15 continued Imbruvica with excellent results.
