I have been on Venetoclax for three and a half. Have felt really well on Venetoclax and still am. Now white blood cells are increasing and the decision has been made for me to start Ibutinib. Hoping I won't have any reactions. My question is what drugs come after ibutinib???? I'm hoping there will be other alternatives when ibutinib stops working. I still have alote of travelling and living to do. Many thanks.

Compared with Venetoclax, Ibrutinib targets a different molecule within the CLL cell. That molecule gives its name to this class of drugs (of which Ibrutinib is the first ) i.e. Bruton Tyrosine Kinase inhibitors, or BTKi's for short.
Your specialist will want to see how you do on Ibrutinib before considering other options, which could include a different BTKi. The choices will of course be limited to what drugs are available in New Zealand.
