I haven't posted here for many months but find myself with a bit of a problem with confused covid advice.
For 2 and a half years I am on third line Ventoclax treatment and responded and maintaining well.
I am up to date with covid vaccines but most unfortunately my wife has covid and has tested positive for the last 9 days. We have managed to take all the care we possibly can and she is confining herself to a bedroom and I am head cook, cleaner and bottle washer! To date, I am still negative but the question is: when my wife does finally test negative for 2 consecutive days, can we then return to our "normal" life? I read about 5 days isolation after the negative tests or 5 days after the first positive. We really cannot find a definitive answer to the protocol in this situation.
To add to this concern, we are due to travel to our family in Germany for the Christmas period. It's all in the lap of the gods as far as we are concerned.
Any advice or comments would be welcome.
Happy Christmas

When I had Covid (in October), the NHS App gave a five day isolation countdown after my first reporting positive, and then a further five days when I stayed positive for longer, and a further five days when a 'rebound' resulted in yet another five or six days positive. When at long last I reported negative, the (automated) advice came back that normal activity could be resumed after three days negative.
Thank you for that information. Yes, the NHS app initially showed a countdown but my wife is now on day11 and still showing positive! So, we will await the message to go back to normal routine. Fortunately, I am due to see my consultant tomorrow and she may have more advice. Thanks again Merry Christmas. JP
I'd wait five days after she tests negative and then do another test. If still negative I'd go back to the usual routine. But I tend to overdo things and err on the safe side always
Thank you for your response. My wife is now on day 11 and still positive! I am due to see my consultant tomorrow and hopefully she will have some advice. But I think once she is negative, I will certainly wait before going back to normal, whatever normal is these days! As you say, better safe than sorry.
