Step two Schedule a call with a pharmacist

There is no cost for Paxlovid, but the consultation with your pharmacist will cost $60. Read below about costs and payment information.
Depending on the clinical assessment, the pharmacist may not be able to prescribe Paxlovid to you but will refer you to a primary care provider (PCP) or MinuteClinic®.
Step threeStart your medication
If you're eligible, your pharmacist will prescribe Paxlovid4FOR PAXLOVID PRESCRIPTION BY PHARMACIST Disclaimer and provide an after-visit summary. Depending on timing and availability, you can have your prescription delivered the same day,5FOR SAME-DAY DELIVERY Disclaimer picked up at a CVS drive-thru or picked up by a caregiver.
Once you have your medication, be sure to start it on the same day. If your symptoms get worse, please seek medical attention. If you have any questions or concerns, your pharmacist can discuss them with you.
How we determine eligibility
Your pharmacist will work with you to determine if prescribing Paxlovid is a good option for you. To be eligible for this service, you should:
Have tested positive for COVID-19 and are within five days of symptom onset.
Have not yet been admitted to a hospital.

Be at least 12 years old and weigh at least 88 pounds.
Have had blood work completed within the last 12 months (including blood work that looks at your liver and kidney function).
Not have kidney or liver disease.
Due to federal regulations, pharmacists cannot provide this service to Medicare or Medicaid members
FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID MEMBERS: Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries currently are not eligible for CVS® pharmacist assessment. Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries should visit their primary care physician or participating provider.

Costs and payment information
While there is no cost for the Paxlovid medication if prescribed, you may be charged up to $60 dollars for the clinical assessment fee. The $60 fee will be charged even if you are deemed ineligible for Paxlovid. The $60 fee can be paid by cash or health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA) card.
Due to federal regulations, pharmacists cannot provide this service to Medicare or Medicaid members at this time. There are other options for treatment if you do not meet all the necessary criteria for the clinical assessment and the prescribing of Paxlovid.
