US vs Canadian COVID boosters

As I understand it, the new US bivalent booster vaccines are designed to defend against the BA.4 and BA.5 0micron variants whereas the Canadian booster only targets the older BA.1 variant

Is my understanding correct and would more protection be provided (especially for the immunocompromised) by getting the US booster?

Any suggestions on getting this booster honestly in New York State for a non-resident? I live 15 minutes from the Niagara border. All suggestions would be much appreciated.

Try booking the booster online at a NY drugstore. They ask very little. 🤞

Thank you. I actually called the COVID info line at a western NY hospital and they said that I could get a booster by simply walking into their regular clinic so long as 2 months have passed since my last shot
