I have COVID 😢

I am still in watch and wait with CLL. So after avoiding Covid for over 2.5 years I traveled to the Tennessee mountains with my daughter and her family. I always wear a mask every where I go but we did eat inside one restaurant where I didn’t wear it while we were eating. I’ve had 5 Pfizer vaccines and Evusheld in June. I missed my July vaccine because I had just had Evusheld and decided to wait for the new vaccine which just became available in NC this week. Fortunately I have very mild cold-like symptoms and fatigue but no fever. I always have fatigue from CLL so I’m not sure it’s any worse from Covid, time will tell. Everyone else continues to test negative and four of the seven of us were in the same car with me when I first noticed that I felt like I might be coming down with a cold. We rented a very large cabin so isolation has not been a problem. I’ve missed out on all the fun activities but am thankful that I have a beautiful view of the mountains from the porch swing on the third floor of the cabin where my isolation room is located. That said, I have feared Covid since March of 2020. I am so thankful for the vaccines and for Evusheld; while not perfect, I feel like they have protected me from a serious illness.

I hope your symptoms continue to be mild. Views of nature are very soothing.

I am W&W for 2 years. 4 vaccines then Evushel 5 days before getting my 1st bout of Covid. Was not fun. The worst was when drainage into my throat was intense. I envisioned it going into my lungs - but, fortunately, didn't. It was 5 days on Paxlovid until I tested negative and felt great. Two days later I went on a 31 mile bike ride - wrong thing to do. I got rebound, lots of head congestion, but wasn't too bad, for 5 days before testing negative. Who knows if too much exercise too soon did it.

Hi Blue, I’m very sorry that you got Covid on vacation. But I tend to look at the positive, you have mild symptoms and you have a bird’s nest view of a beautiful place. Take care and keep up with your fluids.
