Hi all!

I havent had an extraction but recently had a root filling. I had to pause the Ibrutinib before and after. Check with the haematologist how many days. Ibrutinib can cause bleeding and has to be paused for lots of reasons. I hope he gets sorted ok, Anne uk
I’m not taking Ibrutinib but a later BTK inhibitor. Before a recent dental procedure, my haematologist confirmed that I’d need to stop taking my medication before and after an extraction, if that were required. Fortunately, I got away with a filling.
The standard break is three days before and three days after the procedure although other combinations are sometimes recommended. Best you confirm with your specialist who can look at your particular circumstances.
Also, check with your dentist and specialist if any antibiotics might be required.

Yes, and yes. My doc said 3 days before, day of, and 3 days after. But I did only 2 before and after as my blood numbers are good. Went fine.
Was advised 5 days pre and 10 days post by both of my oncology consultants. To be fair I had 3 x 10 days off in 9 months due to 3 covid infections and I am still in remission.
Hi Suzanne1970, I'm on Acalabrutinib and had a recent dental procedure (2 extractions plus 3 roots removed and was advised to stop Acalabrutinib for 5 days prior to op and 5 days after. Had no problems. All best wishes.
