Cart - T UK
Yes, at very specialist centres around the UK. For CLL it's often part of a non randomised clinical trial.
Yes, and you can read about a long time UK member Oleboyredw-uk who is going through the process right now- see his postings starting with CART-1 about 4 months ago healthunlocked.com/user/Ole... post CART-5 was from yesterday. healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

Thanks Len, to the best of my knowledge there is one trial ALLCAR19 run out of UCLH with The Christie also part of the trial. There may be others I do not know about. ALLCAR19 has 50 places of which 10 are for CLL patients. Again, to the best of my knowledge CAR-T is unusual for CLL patients, more common for other Leaukaemias.
best, rob
(Was just about to post an update when I spotted this.
Yes - I think they do it at the Christie - I was going to get lined up for it when they thought I’d had a Richter Transformation - in fact it was pseudo - so it never happened
Kings college hospital where I am treated in London has been doing Car-T for some while.
No. But I’ve met car- t patients there when I’ve been treated. I don’t know what criteria they apply in deciding which patients are treated with it. But if you are interested you could ask them. It is written about on the hospital’s website under Haemato-oncology. The lead CLL doctor is Piers Patten.
Hi al444
It was looking that I would need to have cart T treatment earlier this month but due to further testing it was decided it wasn't necessary so I'm staying on the original treatment plan of V&R. When I was in discussion with my consultant he said there was trail ongoing at Oxford with cart T. It might be worth checking with your consultant if your eligible as it seemed quite promising. Good Luck
