Back Pain after Bone Marrow Biopsy

Good Afternoon, I had a Bone Marrow Biopsy back in February of 2021 and have recently been having lower back pains. I've gone to a Chiropractor and she said it may be a pinched nerve. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any back pain from a Biopsy.

Not sure that a BMB will be causing issues a year later. The one really awful BMB I had left the bone area itself sore for mmmm 6 months? But no pinched nerves. I can't imagine how a BMB could pinch a nerve.

I do know as we age and our spinal disks age, they aren't as resilient. If we have poor posture or other stressors for years, our muscles as well as the discs can change and if we aren't standing, sitting, and walking with optimum posture this can cause problems. I personally got an inversion machine, and do very slow stretching to straighten out my spine. More upfront cost, but we are not going to a chiropractor so less overall cost I think. My partner used to get chiropractic but now finds the inversion machine helps. It won't work for everyone.

Thank you. I'm on 600 mg of Venclexta for the past 4 months and feel that maybe the meds are causing it.

Hi brooklyn7672,

I agree with SofiaDeo that it is unlikely that your BMB and back problems are related, but it is entirely possible that a pinched nerve is the problem. I've dealt with back muscle spasms since the 1960s.

But in 2017 I started having a different type of pain - this series of videos "Why is back pain so complicated" by the team at Weil Cornell NY Presbyterian that treated me for almost 3 years will explain:

It took months of Physical Therapy, multiple xray guided injections, 2 operations, and consistent exercises 3 times per week since to keep me pain free, able to walk long distances, and work maintaining my home. But I am happy, and everything is stable as long as I don't lift too much weight ( e.g. 25 lbs ) or shovel too much snow or mulch.

I believe, as others have stated, that everyone's experience is unique. I've had one without sedation and two with it. They worked on me for a while and had to bring in a huge dude to help since I have tough bones. What was terrible one instant might be simple the next, and vice versa? I started to feel better after a month or two. But the agony is lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce on my back the next time I lean down to pick anything up. My nerves will feel like lightning bolts slicing through my back. Physical therapy may reduce the likelihood of recurrence and the need for health care services, despite the fact that regular exercises may not be useful in the treatment of nonspecific acute low back pain. Massage treatment, as an example of an alternative medicine strategy that has been utilised to decrease stress, tension, and discomfort, was suggested to me at the time by one of my friends. Then I went to a chiropractor, who used a combination of effleurage and petrissage techniques to massage my shoulders, neck, and back. Since starting chiropractic treatment[ erinmillshealth.com ] , I've noticed a significant reduction in my back pain. It's crucial to be active in general, in addition to doing back exercises.
