Sorry I am not technical enough to post the email but the hugely useful Zoe study has lost its government funding. Yet another kick in the teeth for CEV. They have 4.7 million users, 850,000 daily contributors ( I am one ) and 40 peer reviewed scientific papers.
Funding is decided by UKHSA and Zoe have asked contributors to email Dr Jenny Harries to change this decision “ please be respectful and constructive as we are very grateful for our funding over the last 18 months “
I have found their zoom meetings are very interesting and they were the first ( I believe ) to identify loss of smell as a symptom of COVID.
Please email your support.
Thank you
Colette

Another example of us being thrown under the bus!! I reported every day of the pandemic and am reliant on it to get a true picture of the local numbers.
Zoe has issued a new email for anyone wishing to write to UKHSA about the ceasation of the funding. It is: enquiries@ukhsa.gov.uk Apparently the response so far is excellent.
If you are a Zoe app user, I urge you to write giving it your support.
I have written to UKHSA. It seems extraordinary that funding is being stopped when we have so few sources of reliable information on cases and symptoms. Government just seems to want to pretend COVID is over. 😡
I too have found the APP extremely useful and sent a supportive email yesterday. So, we can’t justify the funding for ZOE but we can pay the port of Felixstowe 30 million a month to transport and store containers full of PPE. Approx 300 of these containers were stored a couple of miles away from where I live, the pile is slowly reducing as they are removed for, apparently the contents to be burned. The ongoing cost of funding ZOE would be minimal by comparison!!
So many of these decision makers wouldn’t last 5 minutes in private business.
It’s almost as if they intend to gradually remove any sort of monitoring to keep the public in the dark, pandemic? What pandemic? We need a similar campaign to BLM, CEVLM, need an alternative to taking the knee though, many of us wouldn’t get up.
Anyway, this isn’t meant as a political rant ( before I get a slapped wrist!) I save those for the tv and the dog.
Collette, I have just written to Dr Harries, and requested a reply. The usual way forward these days seems to be to start a petition. I wonder if this is something CLLSA would consider. I don't think it would be considered political.Roger
