On reading about Paxlovid or Molnupiravir in patients on Ibrutinib, its recommended it should not be take because of toxicity , are there any recomendations as to how stop or diminish the dose of ibrutinib to be able to take those antivirals.

Hi JJSI,

-

We had a similar discussion a few days ago. See: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

The comments from Dr. Furman are to coordinate with your CLL doctor if possible and to pause or reduce dosage of Ibrutinib during the 5 days you take Paxlovid or Molnupiravir, since those drugs will work like grapefruit or bitter orange and make Ibrutinib stay in your body much longer than normal, increasing the effects and side effects.

-

Since starting the antivirals quickly is very important, you may want to respond quickly to any positive COVID test or exposure.

Hello JJSI

This maybe just me, but I would continue the CLL treatment so as to make my body better able to fight off CV-19. Blessings.
