Extremely frightening, but important information! I had no idea there were so many, so called N95s that claim fake NIOSH approval!
I just checked my supply of N95s and fortunately they are legitimate NIOSH approved masks according to the NIOSH Certified Equipment List web site: wwwn.cdc.gov/niosh-cel/
I typed the TC number that is printed on my masks (84A-6973) into the search function on the page and a new page opened saying that it is an approved mask and provided the names of the manufacturer and the brand names. RZ Mask, Burnsville, Minnesota
Honeywell International, Inc., Smithfield, RI Model L-188 N95 Filtering Facepiece Air Purifying Respirator
Thanks nalp for posting the link!

Some counterfeiters counterfeit *everything.* Aaron Collins has done a lot of mask testing and providing a link to one video that compares a couple of examples of real/fake of the same types of N95s. (The first minute he gives a bit of overview for the vid and then starts in with a few comparisons):
The best suggestion he gives is to buy from a trustee source, and not Amazon or eBay, as the majority of counterfeit products are sold through Amazon and eBay.
