I decided to go ahead and get the Moderna booster since they opened it up for immune compromised people, and my healthcare system sent me a notice that I qualified (despite being on W&W and not “on treatment” that the CDC said was a requisite). The booster was just about 6 months from my second Moderna shot, and I’m wondering if anyone else has had debilitating flu-like symptoms, and how long after your second shot you got your booster. I also have excruciating under arm pain (similar to what I had with second shot) but worse. I realize these symptoms will dissipate, but wonder if they are worse because the two shots are only 6 months apart. I seem to have read that health officials will recommend 8 months between shots for the “regular” population, whenever they roll it out. Thank you for any input.
Anyone else have Moderna booster with side eff... - CLL Support
Anyone else have Moderna booster with side effects 6 months after 2nd shot?
I had my moderna booster six months after my second moderna shot. I did have slight flu like symptoms with a light fever and chill that lasted less than two days. I am glad I took the vaccine and think you did the right thing.
Hope you will feel better soon.

My third Moderna shot was six months after my second and I experienced flu like symptoms as well. The second shot side effects were the same. I am on W&W since 3.5 years and grateful for the opportunity to try to create antibodies, although I still protect myself with mask and social distancing. I hope the third shot helps your resistance to the virus.
My husband waited 8 months to get the booster, and received it yesterday. He is experiencing some fatigue, pain at the site, a bit headachy, and some nausea. He is resting today.....but actually not bad. He also received the Moderna.
Hi everyone:
I had my booster shot 6 months after my second vaccine and had pain in my arm, fatigue, pain under my arm and symptoms like the flu for three day, I feel much better now.
Thank you all for your replies. It’s day 5 after my booster and I’m nearly back to normal. Able to practice some music, so that’s a good sign.
Myfavoritecat, it’s wonderful you are back to practicing music! I know that exhilarating feeling. Before CLL, I played clarinet. Because of threat of my horn possibly giving me a germ to breathe in, I’m teaching myself piano. I’ll never make it to the concert stage, but have FaceTime my performance to my family. Beethoven’s “Ode To Joy” was played somewhat differently than he composed it!I had a ball and I received applause! Sandra🙂
