Just an update on my follow up with my consultant today as you’ve been so reassuring to me so far. Met him today and admittedly was frightened to death about the diagnosis but he confirmed I had CLL. He says I need a CT scan but he’s confident that there’s nothing to worry about at this time and I don’t need to see him for another 6 weeks. Thanks everyone for your kind support.

Hi Lennc. The CT scan is probably neck to groin, I think it's fairly common. It might come back with a few enlarged lymph nodes and the spleen is another thing they like to look at. It's a good thing as it can also pick up other issues (in my case an enlarged prostate) perhaps unrelated. Please don't stress, you're in a good place and will be monitored going forwards perhaps for years. Just bear in mind you have an abnormal immune system. I'm early on in my journey too and it seems random infections are the biggest risk more so than the cancer directly. Thinking back I realise now I picked up a lot of sniffles and coughs and they hung around longer in me than others that had them. I guess this will continue as the bloods get more out of line but it will be a slow process, I hope.
