Hi, a family member had it recently. A radical change in his diet was necessary.Depending from the causative factor, which can be histamine intolerance, enzyme deficiency (amylase, trehalase etc), gluten intolerance etc. All these can be acquired later in life. One can become intolerant of things he was tolerating well earlier. A gastroenterologist should check you and establish the reason, then set the course of treatment.
Thanks LeoPa. Chances of seeing a gastroenterologist are pretty slim but will do another eConsult to the agency that has taken over my local GP surgery and see how far I get!
I’m on my third day of this and the only thing that’s helped me is Milk of Magnesia. It’s something that will run its course (literally unfortunately). I mentioned it in my 3 monthly haematology consult today but there was no suggestions of help.
Hope you feel better soon. It’s draining! Keep up the fluids and as it’s persisting in your case, check out infection and whether you need antibiotics.

Change your diet to protein and vegetables only for a few days.
Maybe some dyrolite (not sure of spelling) and peptobismol. I get many forms of tummy bugs. Drink plenty of water. Hope you feel better soon.

Stress can, and does, cause as well as aggravate many conditions. We all have had unprecedented levels of emotional stress starting last year, and as things open again (or close) this is a new emotional stress. And we physically have started doing things that we haven't during lockdown. Our gut can react to all this stress. Some people get headaches, others insomnia, others get GI issues. Could changes in the amount and type of stress be involved?
I got diagnosed with Hydrogen SIBO. Took years to find out what was causing so much havoc. Hope you feel better.
