Book: "When Blood Breaks Down". Has anyone read this?

This book gets a good review, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether CLL is covered in any detail. The focus of the book is three patient case studies who were patients of the author. But there is no table of contents listed and the blurb does not make clear which types of blood cancer are primarily discussed. Though apparently the genereal discussion on blood cancer is well presented, if the reviews can be believed.

I would be grateful to hear the views of anyone who has read this book and whether it is worth reading. I have so many things to read so I am very fussy.

Many thanks!

I’ve never read it but it seems well reviewed and recommended. The author is Dr. Mikkael A. Sekeres and it would seem none of the characters had CLL;-

‘We get to know the three main characters of the book very well. David is an older man with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), Joan is surgical nurse who suddenly finds herself diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), and Mrs Badway is a pregnant woman who was in her 2nd trimester when she was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).’

Here is a profile of the author whose focus has not included CLL, but looks like solid credentials.

I get a lot of enjoyment out of reading medical books, as a diversionary and educational activity. I would highly recommend this book - from my CLL patient perspective, my Amazon review comments were.......

"A very interesting and educational book about the different forms of leukemia and their non-black&white progression. Dr. Sekeres captures the emotionally painful medical recognitions, experiences, and decisions by the patients, and the challenges that a hematologist-oncologist face with their patient interactions and medical decisions and recommendations. The book stirred up a lot of thoughts and feelings."
