I think AussieNeil had more frequent G-CSF injections than weekly. Since your neutrophils are extremely low, you should qualify for increased injection schedule. It can be given up to once a day. And make sure you are eating enough extra protein & micronutrients to be able to make those cells.A shortage in any one nutrient will impact your ability to make them. B-12, folate, and copper are especially important. Here's a non-techie link discussing this. You may need to register for an account, it's free:

medscape.com/answers/204821...

You have an acquired neutropenia, so you can skip all the causes, etc. sections. The Lab section talks about tests to rule out nutrient deficiencies like folate and other iron parameters. And if you stay at that level for any time period, you are are risk for opportunistic infections and may want to read the section on Approach to discuss with your doc. For instance, I personally do not spike temps when I get an infection, so I am on opportunistic prophylaxis whenever my neutrophils are low during treatment.

The Dietary section talks about reasonable precautions regarding foods when severely neutropenic. All these sections are tabbed on the far left, if you choose to read past the initial statement of nutrients important for neutrophil production. You can Google a number of sites that discuss foods containing those nutrients. I recommend actual foods instead of just supplements, unless you have known malabsorption problems.

Hi Kell,

Further to SofiaDeo's reply, I've covered neutropenia precautions towards the end of this post: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

I've been neutropenic throughout watch and wait and treatment actually improved my neutropenia, which is still recovering post treatment (Acalabrutinib+Venetoclax+Obinutuzumab). I haven't needed a G-CSF shot since May last year. At times I've needed daily G-CSF shots and it has taken 3 weeks before I was able to drop back to alternate days. Your bone marrow is still in recovery post FCR, given your platelet and haemoglobin counts. Time to recovery post treatment is quite individual, unfortunately.

Did you mean to post unlocked?

Also, would you mind updating your profile so it is easier to see that you are post FCR treatment?

Thanks,

I realise you must be worried about this and the good news is that they are no lower.

Even the neutrophils are essentially the same. You just have to hang on and wait for the recovery to come. GCSF would probably help your neutrophils though if they fall further.

If your results are still low in a month or two then a bone marrow test and cytogenetics should be done

Fingers crossed for better results next time

I was in Neutropenia for 2 years following FCR, I had regular Zarzio injections and antibiotics. I am wavering around 2.0 now. I hope that yours improve soon, I think that it's a case of being patient and making sure that you don't get infections. I hope all goes well. X
