An hour-long webinar recently concluded, with a panel of three experts, now available on youtube youtube.com/watch?v=JoCDpIK...

Highlights from UK study, 700,000 vaccinations

- Pfizer and AZ vaccines both -> good antibody responses in most people after 1st dose, better after 2nd

- Extended (12 week) interval between doses probably -> more robust response

- Mild side effects (innate immune response, not a predictor of T-cell/ Ab response)

- Effective against South African (and probably Brazilian) variant after 2 doses

- Future variants containable, long term trend -> less pathogenic

- If you've had Covid, get vaccinated > 1 month after symptoms have gone

- Vaccines safe for immunosuppressed people

- OCTAVE study is looking at antibody and T-cell responses of people with a range of health issues including immunosuppressed. Such tests expected to become available in many UK hospitals.
