On monday I was on 3mo check up. My WBC and ALC were a little bit higher then in June. WBC was 17,4 (13,35 in June), ALC was 12,9 (9,95 in June). In April WBC was cca. 17 and ALC was 13,35. Is it a normal up&down effect?” My doc said my details are ok overall. My I know what is your experiences? I am on w&w and q13- mutated. Thanks guys🙏

Hi tomster,

IMO (not medically trained) Those levels of variation are not unusual.
If you look on this page for a box labeled "Related Posts" (upper right column on computer screens - but scroll way below on mobile devices) you will find similar past discussions like these:

Dr Susan LeClair has a series of videos on Patient Power where she describes common things that can make your WBC and ALC vary.

You appear to have posted this question twice and I replied on the other post tomster so I’m transferring it to here and deleting the duplicate.
That’s really quite a minor increase tomster and nothing to be concerned about. Doctors don’t start taking much interest in the ALC until it’s over 30 anyway and then only if it starts doubling in 6 months or under.
Sounds pretty stable though we do worry about these increases in the early stages.

Hi Tomster.
13q and mutated does put you in a treatment responsive group, potentially.
Your numbers are not high. Up and down variability is normal!
The count you need to watch is the Lymphocyte count. Do you know what it is now?
My L count went up to 86000 before I was treated. I know for some the counts can be in the 100s of 1000s! It all depends.
My treatment - FCR - began because my lymph nodes were huge, not because of my counts. It all depends and we are all different.
Other aspects that are important include how you feel, infections, spleen size. Haemoglobin and Platelet levels - the Haematologists like to treat before they start to fall.
kind regards
Jig
You could be in watch and wait for a very long time with 13q Cll and your numbers. And there has never been a better time in the history of Cll to be in watch and wait.
In the next five to ten years we should have much more clarity on how to use novel agents, in what combination, in what sequence, in what dose and on and on.
And if Cll research continues on the same path it’s been on lately, there will likely be drugs available five to ten years from now that are nothing but a number in some pharma company’s research inventory today.
From a lay person’s perspective, your situation looks fine. You can park Cll in some far out of the way corner of your brain and forget about it until your next labs.
Thank you Jeff🙏
Tomster,. Relax, Breathe, your numbers are fine.. they will go up and down. What you look for is the numbers doubling and/or triple after a couple of tests. I got to 250,000 before they treated me with the chemo Bendebustine. When that no longer worked my #s were at 425,000. That's when Imbruvica just became available. When that stopped working it was a month later Venteaclax came on line. So just relax and breathe.
