Hi,

Not all my interviews at ASH are with doctors. Some are with fellow advocates.

Here is one of two I did with Lorna Warwick, the CEO of Lymphoma Coalition. This one is on their research on the benefits of being an informed patient: cllsociety.org/2019/08/ash-...

To learn more about the good work of the Lymphoma Coalition, see cllsociety.org/2019/08/ash-...

I am proud that the CLL Society is one of the member organizations.

Stay strong.

We are all in this together.

Brian

Hi

I couldn't agree more. I learnt over the last two plus years that your specialist often tell you little more than you need to know as their consult time is always limited. Finding information from other reliable sources such as the ones Brian has suggested is important so that you can be a more informed patient. If I had the knowledge I have now when I was first diagnosed I would have requested further genetic testing which without doubt would have changed my treatment plan.

All the best

Trevor

I totally agree. Thanks for all the great information! I had to tell my first Hematologist to check my genetics before treatment. He forgot we did not do it. I fired that doctor and switch to a CLL specialist.

Thanks!

I often use your quote " Smart patients, get smart care!" As the advocate for my husband, the medical staff is often surprised at what I know and share....and having a good team makes all the difference! You were one of the first experts I followed, and am grateful for all the knowledge and information you have shared on your own journey.
