I had exactly the same. Turned out to be an allergic reaction to septrin (co-trimoxazole). I'm now on pentamidine by nebuliser instead. The itch is taking weeks to go. I'm now on round six.

I had the same experience of intense itching which made sleep difficult. At that time I had low haemoglobin which I thought was due to my CLL. One GP sent me for scan to see if I had internal bleeding. No results, but a second GP prescribed "Iron tablets" which fixed the problem nicely. I have taken them for a year and the "haemo " who monitors my CLL has suggested that I no longer need them. I guess I need another blood check. Hope you get a fix.
