Lactic acid

Hey can anyone tell me what does it mean to have high lactic acid levels. Mine was 2.8 but now is down to 1 after IV fluid but the doctor didn’t give me any information about the cause. He related it to dehydration and said I’ll be fine although my other blood work didn’t show dehydration but I’ve look online and all I see is a death sentence. Can someone please enlighten me on what this mean the doctors won’t tell me anything

Thank you

My first suggestion is if you have a doctor that doesn’t tell you anything it’s time to find another doctor (I’ve done it twice). Yes lactic acid levels decrease with IV hydration, but you should find out the underlying cause of the elevation. Take care

MartiP2009 he said dehydration was the underlying cause and so have my gynecologist. I’m just so lost. I don’t know what to do or what to believe

It looks, from your past posts, that you meant to post to the Living with Anxiety Healthunlocked forum.

On this CLL site we deal with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.

This happens now and then, that a person posts to the wrong forum.

I hope you find out what your Dr. may have meant regarding lactic acid.

You would most likely be best served to call and ask him or his nurse.
