I only joined this group to get information. My daughter had APlastic Anemia . She had two lots of stem cells but died 2017 January . She did what she wanted to do and saw her sons birthday in Dec, then a family party that we have every year. Christmas was next then the New Year. Her husband said he could see her going down hill after that. She was rushed into hospital at 6-00 on the 11th and died early hours of the 12th..
Thanks to all for listening when I needed help.

So very sorry to hear this Chris. Hope you and your family are managing to cope and it sounds like you were able to have one final very special festive season together.
Thank you for your replies. My daughter was only 42 yrs. I then went and lost my husband of 49 yrs in July, 3 days after my birthday. He was 68 nearly 69 yrs . He died of liver and bone cancer which we were only told on the 6th July. I do actually miss my daughter more as I spent more time with her for the last twelve months of her life as I was her driver to and from the hospital. She was having bloods sometimes twice a week. We were warned she was going to die but we didn't know how quick. This we were told in October 2016.
Well that's it now thanks again for your replies. XXX
Oh Chris my heart aches for you! I do hope you’ve got some good support there although nothing could replace your daughter and husband. We have such a greater emotional investment when someone is ill or needs us more because of the additional time spent together. I lost my mum 5 weeks ago and it’s true that grief and pain is the price we pay for having had such wonderful people in our lives.
Hi Chris, I know exactly what you are going/went through My son was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer two months before his 21st. Unfortunately he lost the battle on Oct.25th 2005 a month before his 28th birthday. He was single, but in his words he had had a fantastic life. Time is a great healer, you luckily have your grand children to help you remember your daughter and to bring you lots of happiness and smiles. Memories of your loved ones are a great thing. Be strong, but if you feel like crying, then let it go. Take care of yourself.
I always talk to my grand daughters there are three and they were all my daughters. My grandson is now walking my dog when its not to hot. My granddaughters are reasonable happy but miss their mum so we talk.
I am so sorry you had to go through this, losing both your daughter and husband recently. We all know the ups and downs of dealing with a serious illness (sometimes more), which only compounds the loss. There is so much love and effort in doing whatever we can to make our loved ones well again.
I find it difficult to find the right words, which can provide comfort under these circumstances. I am so glad you have family and grandchildren, which I hope provides you some relief.
Yes I have three children who are at the end of the phone if I need them. My two sons come for dinner every Sunday. I only have to ask if I need anything. My son-in-law is also very helpful.
