Just found this site. In 2015 my husband was prescribed Imbruvica for CLL. He took one dose and passed away the next morning from sudden cardiac arrest.

Omg that’s horrible! I’m so sorry. I am very new to this site and also newly diagnosed late March. How old was your husband? Was he aware of any heart problems before that?
The fact that you just found this site and it’s been close to 3 years since he passed tells me you must still be questioning and hurting. I hope you find some answers or comfort 🌹
I'm sorry to hear that, it is so sad. What a terrible thing to happen, with CLL or no CLL.
His passing must have been quick for him which is a blessing but a shock for you, leaving you with unanswered questions.
Thank You! Been over 2 years and I still cry every day.
Sorry to hear that. I had open heart surgery 2 years before taking Imbruvica. I too have issues with it and how it effects me everyday (major palpitations et). What I do know is the last thing your husband would want is for you to be sad. I know you can do it!!!

Yes I do thank you!
Hi Margie,
So sorry to hear of the devastation of losing your husband of 45 years. I’m sure the pain is debilitating for you. I feel even more blessed that Ibrutinib is working for me for nearly a year and a half with no negative side effects. Your story is a wake up call for each of us to appreciate the beauty in the world around us. Be sure to let your loved ones know how much they are loved. Prayers that each day will get easier for you. I’m sure he was an amazing man if the two of you were married 45 years. Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with us. All the best. Sally
I am so sorry. That must have been awful for you.
All best wishes
Clare
My most sincere condolences to you. It is such a sad story especially after just starting a new medication that offers so much promise to many. I hope you are able to find peace in your heart at some point. It can be a very long process but hoping you find comfort in loving memories of your husband.
Warm regards,
Nan
Thank You for caring!
Hello Margie... I am so sorry to hear about your tragic event losing your husband. Do you know if it was actually caused by the Imbruvica? A terrible experience for you. Please know that people on this site care very much. You can come her often and I welcome you. Carole
I don’t know if it was the meds but other than the CLL he had no heart problems.
Hello.
I'm so sad to hear about your husband.
We have been married 40 years and my husband, who has CLL, is the love of my life. I can only imagine how hard life must be or you.
Stay strong.

That is truly the. I’m so sorry to hear about this. I wish you all the very best Margie
So sorry to hear about what happened to your husband. I hadn't heard of any previous experiences like that. Did he have any previous heart problems? I wish you the very best.
So sorry to hear about your husband. I would be heartbroken if that happened to my husband. I pray that you find comfort and peace in your heart soon.
Margie I’m so sorry to hear this. I have cll and have been taking imbruvica for8 months. It breaks my heart for you to go thru this. You must have so many unanswered questions. I have been married 56 yrs and worry about my husband because of his heart issues. When I think of his problems it brings tears to my eye because I can imagine the loneliness to lose the love of your life. I will add you to my prayer list praying our Lord grants you peace and strength. 💔😘❤️😘
What an unexpected and absolutely dreadful thing to happen margie. I’m so sorry to hear this as he sounds to have been a healthy man prior to the CLL diagnosis and this could not have been anticipated. A sudden passing like this is so much harder and it’s clear you had a very precious, long marriage.
Sending you immense best wishes. Grief has no time limit and some people are just irreplaceable but I hope you can find some peace and happiness in the future.

Margie that must have been just heart wrenching for you. I am so sorry for you loss. I've been married almost 52 years now but I am the one with CLL. I try to do all the things I can do while I can do them and enjoy the things in life that I value most. I hope you will be able to find comfort in the not so distant future.
