On today's Patient Power mailing comes information that seems to be quite helpful for anyone, who like me, has ventured online to search out a clinical trial and found it to be fitful journey, feeling unfit to sift through the jargon, & leaving without anything that seemed to fit (perhaps even coming close to throwing a fit or fit to be tied).
I've called this process "Trial & Error" always wishing there was a consultant independent of my doctor (who'd just advise me to go online and try to find one) who had more expertise than me. Now I see there is to which I have to plead total ignorance.
This from the transcript at Patient Power: "Many patients who are actively looking for other treatment options can feel overwhelmed by the number of clinical trials that are available worldwide. Which trial is the best for you? How can patients be confident in their choice to participate in one versus another? Tricia Holtz, a clinical trials navigator at Emerging Med, discusses how her healthcare team can guide the decision-making process and find suitable trials based on a patient’s unique condition, including diagnosis, stage, treatment history and location".
