I currently run a lab in a pediatricians office and am always in contact with these kids with mutant strong germs! I draw their blood and am frequently in their face while they are crying.
I have been sick 4 times in the last 5 months. Is it possible that I need to find a new job?

I have had CLL diagnosed in January 2013 I am a pediatrician and continue to see patients. I won't let the fear of this disease keep me from doing what I want
If you enjoy your job, first look at ways you can reduce your infection risk, e.g. wear a facial mask and wash your hands more frequently. Does your employer know about your CLL diagnosis and would they be prepared to be flexible to reduce your risk of contact with infectious children, perhaps by sharing some tasks with others at your workplace?
Infection risk with CLL can be determined to some extent by your neutrophil and Ig levels, but some of us with low counts can still do all right infection wise while some of us with good counts can struggle.
