I was diagnosed with CLL a little over a year ago. And what a strange emotional ride it has been. The watch and wait, feeling tired when you do the things you normally had no trouble doing. But feeling blessed at the same time that it isn't worse. I have good support with my husband and son, but it's strange how you can still feel lonely at the same time. Knowing you have this Cancer in your body doing whatever it pleases while you just wait. Reading the posts on this site really has helped. God bless to all !

It's great to read your first post fxdx, you're absolute right in saying there's sometimes an 'aloneness' with this condition and I'm pleased to hear you find the support of this wonderful forum beneficial on your CLL journey.

You might wish to restrict your post to this community with it having a personal photograph as your avatar. I'm sure Admin will do it for you if you're unsure how.

Warm regards,

Newdawn

Welcome aboard. I am 64 and was diagnosed this year too. You will enjoy this group. I love belonging to it because my friends and family are cancer free and therefore having a gang who can relate to the ups ,downs and in between' s is really important. Watch and wait is not so fun but better than the alternative. You will learn and will find support here. You are near the water somewhere by the picture. There is solace in nature. All the great poets return to nature in their latter years.

Thank You, water is so calming. All the best.

Hi Fxdx,

CLL is for sure an emotional roller coaster. Extreme highs and lows that hit rock bottom. I feel blessed to have found this forum of wonderful people that know what I'm feeling also. They've been there. So much knowledge I've gained from loving strangers that care. Welcome. You're no longer alone.

Kindest regards,

Sally (USA)

Welcome fxdx1 to this wonderful group. I was diagnosed in April this year and as most have said struggled with all that CLL throws at us. I have and still do think of myself as a positive person but often it's difficult to keep on smiling. I also find I often feel so lonely which is even more frustrating as I have such a wonderful supportive family. This site is so supportive and for me eases the loneliness of the condition. It looks like I may be heading for some kind of treatment in the New Year but I know I will get help and support on here as I do every day reading other people's posts. Wishing you all the best on your CLL journey.

Hi. I was diagnosed a year ago also, started treatment 01.10.16. I agree the tiredness is sometimes overwhelming. I have found doing a little & often helps. Best wishes going forward.

Please feel very reassured that there are many excellent therapies already available and more in the pipeline. Let's hop we will all go gently into the night at a ripe old age due to some other cause - the CLL won't likely get us.
