Low blood platelets

I have blood platelets count only 1.29 lakh.Is there any problem?Any health measure should have to follow?

Do you know what is causing your low platelet level, such as a diagnosis of CLL? I'm not familiar with your units and what the normal range is for you. The normal range for the two usual measurement standards are 150 to 450 or 150,000 to 450,000.

With low platelets, there's an increased risk of bleeding as follows (using the 150 - 450 range):

100 – 150 Little to no risk of bleeding

50 – 99 Increased risk of bleeding with injury

20 – 49 Risk of bleeding increased without injury. Spontaneous bruising will be seen (mostly on the arms and legs)

10 – 19 Risk of bleeding greatly increased

<10 Spontaneous bleeding likely

So if you are at increased risk of bleeding, you should avoid contact sports and seek a specialist's advice on what (if anything) can be done to improve your platelet counts.

My blood platelets are 129.No strong reasons for low blood platelets,the only reason is small fever

129 is barely out of the normal range and could be your normal result. Around 5% of healthy people have results outside the normal range. Check what results you've had in previous blood tests if these are available and monitor further tests for any trend downwards.
