I've recently been placed on the "Treanda" protocol and would like to hear from those that were either on it or presently are. How do you feel now and how you felt while going through the 6 months of treatments.. I just finished round #1 about 2 + weeks ago and would like to make a comparison with my fellow users in regard to what they have experienced... Thank you and ....Be strong!

Treanda ..I'd like to hear from those that have been on it..
Good morning Soflajoe, I had Treanda in 08, had some skin rash not sure if it was the chemo or the Bactrim for infections. Also got Neulasta, shot day after treatment. We're all different, now watching and waiting. Hope the best for you and all.
I have used Rituxan plus Treanda two different times, three years apart. I was given this cocktail once a month for 6 months, followed by a two day wait and received a Neulasta shot. First time use severe headaches. Second time use they changed out my nausea medicine and I did not have any headaches. (Seems the nausea medicine they gave me was known to cause severe headaches.). In fact, I just did not take my nausea pill. Did not need it. Only got my bag of nausea medicine when I was in the chemo chair. No hair loss. Hair thinned some. Neulasta shot made me feel horrible for two to three days after I got it. Felt like I had the flu. Anywhere from 4 months to a year, after chemo ended, major skin problems. If I got bit by a insect, sever swelling and itching issues. Many trips to dermatologist without any explanations. Finally self medicated with a 10 mg over the counter Loratadine daily. I always apply insect spray if I am outside for long periods of time and I use lots of sun block. Seems heat makes me itch more. All the skin issues went away about 6 months before I started treatment again. Over all I think our chemo drugs for CLL are much kinder to the body than other people I saw so I am very grateful. All reactions finally disappered. Wish I could say that about the CLL.
