I'm glad you made it through to the other side of the FCR. I had bendamustine and had issues with smells and taste but never lost them. Someone who had fcr will have to chime in.

My husband is currently receiving FCR and lost his sense of smell and taste very early on. I fully expect it to recover based on the experience of many other people I know who have had chemotherapy (not necessarily FCR) but I gather that it can take a couple of months.

Thankyou for your response. This site is great for putting one at ease with this condition. I have been experiencing problems for 3 months to date. Haem says he's not worried.

Hi Dolly I had FCR ending in sept 2013. My sense of smell is definitely not impaired but sense of taste still hasn't recovered. It's there but dulled. I tend to go for higher tasting food curries etc. altho funnily my taste buds for sweets puddings etc seem fine.

Over two years after FCR, only two lots, which caused other problems. My husband could no longer drink coffee, eat bacon or chocolate. He has now started to eat bacon again occasionally.
