Hi Spike, yes, Nick posted this earlier.
Thanks for posting the BBC video of the news report bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-288... .
It aired yesterday day time in Wales and on the six o'clock news This is a breakthrough that will enable CLL patients to receive a more informed diagnosis when the test is translated for use in the clinic. Hopefully this will not take too long.
For me the worst part of diagnosis was to be told I have an incurable condition that may progress and require treatment, or may not progress for some time, if ever,
That one size fits all diagnosis, i found hard to come to terms with as many of you can relate to. The first few years of worry and angst , the effect of this on me and my family and not being able to function properly paid a price. Five years on i am still on watch and wait, so time has inevitably selected for me and life is good, for the moment. ,
This test may help prevent many being over traumatized or over medicalised at diagnosis and continue to live life without the constant watch and worry.
Prof Pepper also shared with me that the test can also provide evidence of treatment efficacy, which patients are most likely to respond to different therapies. This is indeed a break through.
Nick
