Diagnosed in 2008 with CLL. Have been in the watch and wait phase for 9 years. My WBC has doubled and I have enlarged nodes in the last 3 months. I am an avid golfer and find lately I cannot complete my round. My oncologist has mentioned I may be looking at treatment soon. I am glad I found this site and it has helped me understand my disease. New to patient power
I have been at the W+W phase since 2009. My WBC is low to mid 30k. Also a golfer. I eat fairly healthy, don't follow any special regimen except I eat fruit every day. My nodes stay enlarged for months at a time but my energy level is good during the day and I'm tired at night. I just purchased some green tea extract and will try that for a while. Hoping my energy does not leave me especially since I just bought new sticks. Good luck to you!
Hi Schatzie, I am a golf nut. I started becoming so fatigued and slightly depressed I quit playing last summer. I didn't realize I had CLL then but I'm sure I did because I had all of the symptoms. I'm feeling really good again and it is amazing considering I was stage 4 only 18 days ago. I'm really looking forward to my next blood test. I'm on an extreme anti cancer diet now. The green tea extract I take 4 times a day in liquid form with 4 ounces of Suji mighty 12 juice I buy at costco. I also Juice and I eat mainly vegetables and a few berries. I juice Turmeric root, ginger, spinach, kale, carrots, broccoli, celery, brussel sprouts, beets. I drink smoothies which are super healthy too and easy to digest. Believe it or not you can add a lot of veggies to your smoothies and they still taste great. I eat a lot of healthy nuts, seeds, ground flax seeds, flax seed oil, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and even apricot seeds which are high in B17 which many think kills cancer. I thought I had a good diet before but the new one is in an entirely new league all organic and I don't put anything in my body that isn't healthy. I quit drinking alcohol, coffee, energy drinks and cut sugar down to a new low. I'm reading constantly about diet and anti cancer foods. I also checked out the Budwig diet which I'm already on by accident. The creator of the diet was and awesome cancer researcher that had amazing results. I've also added her cottage cheese/flaxseed concoction which sounds weird until you read the science behind it. I wish the best for you and anyone with CLL. I hope to have more good news in the future. I'm still waiting on high tech tests from the Mayo clinic but should have them soon. Aloha
GoodTimesMan, I am very interested in knowing the results of your next bloodtest. I hope you can play golf again now that you are feeling better. May I ask where you get your liquid green tea extract?
Best of luck!
