colds and sore throat

I am 72 diagnosed with CLL in 2022 and am on monitor and wait. I am careful about unlimited social contact but am close to my grandchildren. They bring home all kinds of things from school and 2 x a year : once in fall and then again in spring I contact head cold with Cough , conjestion and sore throat. Historically I would expect these to last 7-10 days but now can take 3-4 weeks for my body to get back to normal . I would appreciate hearing from others how to better manage

Thanks Steve

Late response but, the school age children are the carriers. Start of school year yes but definitely during Winter Holiday School Breaks. I would suggest wearing mask around them & disinfecting your home when they leave. This 2025 Nooro Virus or whatever new name of this terror, its lingering & debilitating. After a week it seems gone & then new symptoms appear.

I had an Endoscopy Procedure 12/17/24, there was a coughing unmasked nurse on duty. I put up a fuss & everyone masked up but apparently the area was already contaminated. 12/20/24 I had Respiratory Symptoms which I treated with Natural Remedies. By 12/25/24 I had Chestpain from the start of Pneumonia. My CLL Specialist listened to me & we agreed on 12 days of antibiotics with CTA Scan. The views showed bilateral lung collapse. So I take my Probiotics & Diflucan to maintain my gut flora but my Poop smells toxic for weeks later. I called GI to order a stool specimen because it was lasting too long. 2 months goes by & 2/18/25 I eat a mandarin orange without washing the skin & severe Vertigo kicks in 1 hr later.

I would do some research because I read somewhere that many CLl Leukemia Survivors can have symptoms for months. Its not a joke! Stay Well 🙏🏾
