Hi there, haven't been on here for quite a while as things seemed to have calmed down but just wondered if anyone's child (and I think there aren't too many with choledochal cysts) had recurrent bouts or problems with pancreatitis or pancreatic pain after their operation?
Thanks
Natalie

Hi there, I'm still learning about it all and its difficult as it looks like there are quite a few different types of these things, I think Chloe's consultant said she had a type f choledochal cyst and a long common channel, not sure if they all have the long channel but that was what caused her pancreatitis and the fact that it wasn't until she was 4 that it started to give her problems. I think its better when they see them early and operate early. Shes actually alot better this week, thinking maybe I will look at her diet again as she doesn't seem to be able to tolerate fat at the moment. Really glad to hear how your daughter is doing and to speak with you.
Hello, I was born with a choledochal cyst 56 years ago and have had pancreatitis twice, once after one of my surgeries. It is considered one of the complications of having a choledochal cyst. It can lead to chronic pancreatitis but I hope your daughters pancreatitis settles down very soon. They can also have multiply cholangitis which I still get. I hop all goes well for the future. Best wishes Vickie.
