The bar with the best service

A quick note to say you can now find the (growing) list of HealthUnlocked’s condition-focussed communities by clicking on the new bar at the top of your screen.

It became clear to us, especially in our recent member survey, that many of our members didn’t know that HealthUnlocked provides free online communities to more than one charity. We hope that these other communities could also be helpful for you – or maybe somewhere you can recommend to a friend or family member to find support and information they need.

Also on the top bar, by clicking on your username, you’ll go straight to your profile settings where you can manage how you receive emails and add more information about yourself. Maybe it’s the perfect time for those of you who haven’t yet uploaded a picture and information about yourself? We know other members like to see all the different personalities taking part in their community.

We hope you like the new look. And of course we’re always pleased to hear new feedback.

Please please please could we have a timeline view of comments in the next update? It's very tedious to check for new updates to things I've commented on.

Sorry about the tedium! Yes, we want to reinstate the button that lets you follow, "Notify me when someone writes a comment after me."

There are more changes planned in the New Year. If you send your ideas to the 'Feedback' in the top right then we collate the information from there but this one is already on our list.

I got a notification for your comment - was that because you used the "Reply to this" link?

It was indeed. I'm not quite sure why other users don't use that option more - it's a really neat way of keeping conversation flows manageable.

Well, as you probably know, the new comment box is there all the time, but if you click "Reply to this" before the page has finished loading, or if javascript is forbidden, it displays an error message.

I think the javascript on the "reply to this" box may need improvement anyway - my laptop's fan speeds up when I type faster, so it must be eating processor power!
