Hi Macarno,

There are others on this site who have had a stent fitted, so they would be more knowledgable than me, but I have a feeling that this might be routine procedure to lessen the risk of you having another one.

Hi, if you have has a stent fitted it's to open an artery which was previously blocked, The arteries become blocked due to the fats in your body, the statins help to reduce the amount of so called 'sticky ' fats., you will probably have also been given advice regarding future diet and excersice, which will also help do the same.

The doctors normally keep a check on the statins, i'm one year on from stent being fitted and now am on a very low dose, probably may be off them completely soon.
