I've had chest pain which goes into my shoulder on a couple of occasions.. the pain takes my breath and i can't move for a few minutes..

I've had ECG at my GP's practise this didn't show any concerns.. just scared when this happens.. i feel like i'm going to pass out.. any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

I've had asthma, statin side-effects and simple bruising cause chest pain in the past. I was put onto a 24-hour ECG by the lipid clinic consultant which showed nothing seriously wrong. Can GPs do 24-hour ECGs? Could you provoke the pain while hooked up to an ECG? I'd keep a diary and note any patterns to the pain. It's often nothing serious, but it is pretty scary to have such pains.

Your GP should refer you to a heart specialist but you would be seen much quicker if someone took you to A & E the next time it happens.
