I Have Been Eating A Nose To The Grindstone "Healthy Diet" For About 3 Years Now. I Lost 52 lbs In That Time And Thought I Was Doing Great. However, My Blood Work Showed Up With Having Abnormally HIGH Bad Cholesterol And Abnormally Low Good Cholesterol !*
I Am Shocked. I Eat And Have A Great Diet. Now They Want Me On Meds. I Never Had Such Bad Readings When I Ate Anything I Wanted Too Including Junk Foods. I Am 65. This Confuses Me.
Does Anybody Have Any Suggestions or/ Thoughts They'd Like To Share ?
Thank You For Taking The Time To Let Me Share.....

Two years ago there were suggestions on your post regarding thyroid. LOW thyroid hormones can be linked to raised cholesterol AND anxiety and depression. Cholesterol is a chemical so cannot be both good and bad...
I have heard this too that Low thyroid can have an inverted effect on our cholesterol levels. If one is high the other can be low. Also once low thyroid levels are corrected cholesterol levels can balance too. Doctors years ago were said to have known the connection.
Only 20%of our cholesterol is determined by diet and lifestyle, the other 80% is down to the way our individual bodies are wired/work ( genes etc) . I have a healthy diet, am not overweight, exercise etc and still had high cholesterol. I now take statins .
