finally talked my doc into letting me stop taking Lipitor and see if my diet can control my cholesterol. of those of you that have done this, can I expect and type of withdraw from the drug and will my cholesterol numbers shoot up at first. any input would be appreciated

Hi I just found this group, serendipity - and have the same questions as you. I stopped taking rosuvastatin 24 hours ago, after being on statins for 30 years. Late in the day but I'm just finding out how harmful they can be. The practice nurse told me that they needn't be tapered but gave no info about side effects or cholesterol level. I'll be interested in comments too.
