Are you a Heart Patient taking statins or a carer for someone with heart disease?

Social media is a great forum for us for share our experiences and knowledge, but is the patient’s conversation about statins being heard by clinicians and the powers that be?

The Cardiovascular Care Partnership CCP(UK), is hosting a short debate about statins during its annual conference. Download flyer and programme.

Good to hear from you again after what seems a while. My husband found a website jeffreydachmd which was interesting. Am considering having another coronary artery scan but do not know that I can do much more than I am now. This doctor is against statins but I am still continuing on a low dose as it does not seem to affect me.

This seems very unusal that the doctor is against statins!

A doctor that has freed his mind, that is indeed unusual.

May be you need to ask your doctor for an explanation "WHY"? he is against statin.

It is possible he is not telling the true story!!!!

Are your cholesterol numbers within limits and did your doctor od a risk analysis or is he against risk analysis?

If you read my answer you will see that I am continuing on a low dose of statin. I was mentioning the article by jeffreydachmd which was interesting to me as I am on the WFPB diet. He mentions lots of vitamins etc to take.
