Good cholesterol
There is total cholesterol and then lipids, HDL,LDL,VLDL and Triglyceride. Google may give you the answer you need. If you have had blood test then best to give all blood test numbers for people to respond.
Divide your Total cholesterol by your HDL and if its below 3.5 stop worrying
For example if say your total cholesterol was 5.2 and your HDL was 1.8 we have
5.2 / 1.8 = 2.8 which is below 3.5
I once listened to Dr Malcolm Kendrick at a Conference explain there is not such thing as GOOD and BAD Cholesterol ! Cholesterol is a chemical and therefore cannot be both good and bad.
It was something thought up by Pharmaceutical companies to capture the public imagination - and boy how it worked. HDL and LDL are protein carriers transporting cholesterol in and out of the liver .
