Ive had high lipids for aprox 10 years or so especially triglycerides which at the last count were the highest the doctor had ever seen at 2700 and total cholesterol at 9 .At the last lipid clinic visit the doctor said that it may be my blood pressure meds that were causing the high levels .I stopped the lisonapril/hydrochlorothiazide 10mg/12,5 mg for 1 month and bingo ! Total chol 4.9 trigs 870 still high but have dropped more since . Considering id had pancreatitis twice due to high trigs this is fantastic news and the gp now agrees the hydrothorothiazide was probably causing the problem . The gp said some diuretics can interfere with the action of lipid meds so its worth checking .
