Satins are the new hysterectomy

Satins, I feel are being widely abused to treat high cholesterol. rather like antibiotics lazy doctors just prescibe without looking into alternative ways of reducton.

Yes, I tend to agree with this. One more point, however: some people say - and I tend to agree - that high cholesterol is a ‘made-up disease; in other words, it is NOT a condition that needs to be ‘cured’ at any cost! Even if your LDL cholesterol is high, that in itself is not a problem unless the particles are very small and dense. What is rarely realised is that LOW cholesterol can be dangerous - for instance, people who get cancer often have low cholesterol. My advice would be simply to not worry too much about your cholesterol level; on the whole, high cholesterol is not dangerous at all.

Why would anyone take statins when they are not even the most effective treatment for heart disease risk ?
