The LCHF diet is recommended by many here. I lost 36lbs on slimming world but it made my cholesterol go up!! I've been taking atorvastatin for 3 months now but as a 33 year old female I'm determined to stop them. Today is my first day sugar free. By eliminating sugar from the diet you will reduce inflammation, which causes raised cholesterol. It also effects fatty liver and insulin sensitivity. I am only tackling the sugar for now but once I'm completely free from it I'll also be drastically reducing carbs.
You need to offer more information on cholesterol. Three blood measurements, blood pressure, blood glucose and blood cholesterol, weight, height, weight to height ratio and BMI. Your GP has the medical records to give guidance.
For a healthy life without any medication, life style change, food & drinks intake control and regular exercise are necessary.

Hi, worth looking at your overall magnesium intake, as lack of this mineral can be associated with high cholesterol. It can also help lower your blood pressure. You can find it in foods like leafy green vegetables and nuts as well as supplements.
Cutting out refined carbs / processed food / added sugar seems to be helpful. Not new, but worth bearing in mind.
